Our Mission

The mission of the George Washington Carver Agriculture Research Center (GWCARC) is to sustain, strengthen and enhance agriculture and the environment in Virginia’s Northern Piedmont and is based at the George Washington Carver Center in Rapidan, VA.

George Washington Carver Food Enterprise Center

GWCFEC is 6,000 square foot space shared-use commercial kitchen and food business incubator with construction scheduled

to begin fall 2022.

The Stone Soup
Project

Stone Soup Job Skills Training Program is a partnership program between GWCARC and Virginia Cooperative Extension that provides training on food safety and customer service and teaches basic culinary skills for employment in the foodservice industry.

 Working Group

The Carver Center Food Security and Agriculture Working Group is a collaborative project that pulls together agriculture and food security related organizations and programs working out of the Carver Center

in Rapidan, VA.
